Safety & Security problems of modern society

The Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and the Academy of Geopolitics and Security Problems, with the help of active participation and assistance of Transport Safety & Security Fund began the work Safety & Security problems of modern society, a joint social-political project.

This present project is supposed as generalization, analysis and periodic publication of the results of joint work of leading analysts, major politicians, eminent public and national statesmen, representatives of business spheres and leaders of confessional unions and organizations of the most actual directions of societal security ensuring.

The deteriorating situation in the world is the main motive for the project, explaining its urgency and need. We are witnessing unprece­dented socio-political and economic upheavals, decline in spiritual and moral values, and spread of drug addiction and organized crime. Lastly, we are witnessing the threatening growth of the most perverse criminal phenomenon of all time — global international terrorism. The time has obviously arrived to opt for a new paradigm of existence, or rather, survival of our civilization.

The project pursues three aims:
-first — to help the reader develop his thinking skills and explain to him the principles of societal security;
- second — through project materials to tell readers how to employ the recommended ways and means of enforcing elements and systems of societal security;
- third — to set forth the authors' views on some current issues of societal security.

The project is the first attempt to raise, discuss and present to the public the findings of key analysts, big-time politicians, public opin­ion leaders and statesmen, businessmen and religious leaders on the issues of current interest in societal security.

We consider this work to be claimed by the wide circle of readers in any case connected with the decision of societal security problems and will also promote the effectiveness of problems decision, which civilization faces.
